My name is Jacquelyn Hibma. I have had multiple teaching experiences that have helped me grow as a teacher. These experiences include three internships and a job as a Headstart Teacher. I have worked with multiple grade levels, English Language Learners, and a child with autism. I have also communicated with parents orally and through writing in Spanish. Please see my resume for further information.
While writing lesson plans, the three main things I think about formative and summative assessments, differentiation, and making the learning objectives clear to the students.
I believe that patience is a great strength of mine. It allows me to stay calm when managing a classroom and when dealing with individual students. I am also a compassionate person. I deeply care about people. As a teacher, my affection for students will allow me to be an advocate and a motivator for all of the children in my classroom. Finally, my flexibility allows me to get along with both coworkers and parents, and to constantly assess where my students are and adjust my teaching accordingly.
