As a teacher, I plan to use formative and summative assessments in order to inform my instruction and differentiate for individual students. I have been introduced to the Daily 5 model which allows me to differentiate instruction by confering individually with students and teaching small groups. During my teacher assisting placement, I conducted writing conferences and kept the data collected in a notebook. I used this data to write my lesson plans and objectives. During my student teaching I conducted running records and used this information to guide lessons for a RTI guided reading group I led. For math lessons during student teaching I used explorations/centers. This allowed me to have different objectives for different leveled students while they were working at the exploration stations.
